The
Owners of this dramatic hillside
home in Berkeley came to us
with a unique challenge. Their
front yard was down a steep flight
of stairs from the street and
was in the shadow of their own
looming carport.
They
wanted a gracious entry with a
seating area as well as a private
spa area. We tucked the spa
in at the base of the carport. We
then used stepped planters and
heavy timber trellises to provide
privacy, and to bring a sense of
scale to the carport. The
motif was repeated at the base
of the entry stairs and at the
seating area to create a unified
whole. |
